I spent the last two days at the Dallas Digital Summit 2012. And while I didn’t find out what the next new thing was going to be, I did gain a wealth of information about where online marketing, advertising, and communications is headed. I was not surprised that there was such an emphasis on mobile and social. Every other topic discussed touched on the need to be mobile and social. From web design, content strategy, email marketing, SEO, and so on.
And Dallas has such a great digital community, as evidenced by the amount of networking that took place, both online and offline during the two-day event. There was plenty of opportunity to connect with presenters, sponsors, and like-minded professionals with a career and passion for digital media.
I am excited about where this field is headed, and am encouraged that more companies will see the importance… no, the necessity of having their online presence optimized for mobile devices and social engagement.
I look forward to sharing more with you over the coming weeks and months. So stay tuned!
